Bayreuth and 1 GHz

The first commercial shielded 1-GHz nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometer worldwide went into operation at the University of Bayreuth early summer this year. On this occasion we cordially invite you to a one-day scientific symposium on Nov 18, 2016.
Within the framework of the High-Tech-Offensive Bayern the University of Bayreuth, supported by the Universities of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Regensburg, and Würzburg, invested heavily in NMR-based structural biology.
In 2012 the Gemeinsame Wissenschaftskonferenz (Joint Scientific Conference) of the Federal Republic and the Länder recommended acquisition of a cutting-edge 1-GHz-spectrometer as part of the Research Center for Bio-Macromolecules and the Department of Biopolymers. This spectrometer was finally installed end of 2015 and early in 2016.
Research groups from the University of Bayreuth and the co-applicant Bavarian universities will use the new spectrometer to foster biological and medical projects such as studies of receptors, allergens, prions, antivirals, and antibiotics.
In addition, the Research Center for Bio-Macromolecules offers access to the new spectrometer for research groups worldwide.
